Enterovirus-induced AP1-mediated miR-146a induction, suppression of IRAK1 and TRAF6 and inhibition of IFN production, by which virus escapes host immune attacks. Neutralization of virus-induced miR-146a by LNA antagomiR-146a can block this signalling cascade, resulting in the relief of symptoms and reduction of mortality.
