The dashed lines show the real part of the electronic dielectric constants of water and ice VIII (0 K) at zero frequency, 1(0), obtained from density functional perturbation theory (DFPT) without local field effects (NLF). As a comparison, the results obtained with DFPT and including local field effects (as done in Fig. 1), are shown by the solid lines. The error bars show the s.d. values of the electronic dielectric constants of water.
