(b) The lithiation-dependent longitudinal elastic modulus of LixCoO2 calculated from the longitudinal speed of sound assuming a LiCoO2 density of 5.06 g cm−3 (the decrease in density of ~4% going from Li1.0CoO2 to Li0.6CoO2 was not included in the calculation). In both a and b, the red data are during delithiation, and the blue during lithiation.
