From: Direct observation of spin-forbidden transitions through the use of suitably polarized light

Theoretical photoabsorption spectra (same as Fig. 3b,c) depicted from 3 to 5.5 eV—that is, in the energy range of the Clements bands. In the full blue line the spectrum is shown resulting from a y-polarized excitation and in the dashed orange line as resulting from z-polarized excitation. For better visibility, the z-polarized spectrum has been multiplied by a factor 3.
