The inset shows 1/χ for all three axes χa, χb and χc. The dashed line indicates the slope of the inverse Curie–Weiss susceptibility for a paramagnet with effective moment of μeff=1.6 μB, close to that expected of an Ir Jeff=½ state if the g-factor anisotropy is ignored. All three components of susceptibility show strong deviation from the Curie–Weiss behaviour as a function of temperature.
