Figure 6: SMBA suppresses lung cancer in vivo.

(a) Nu/Nu mice with A549 lung cancer xenografts were treated with increasing doses of SMBA1 (2~60 mg kg⁻¹ per day) intraperitoneally for 10 days. Each group includes eight mice. Tumour volume was measured once every 2 days. The error bars indicate ±s.d. Statistical significance was analysed with two-sided unpaired Student’s t-test. After 10 days, the mice were sacrificed and the tumours were removed and analysed. (b) Active caspase 3 was analysed in tumour tissues at the end of experiments by IHC staining. Scale bar, 10 μm.
