The level of cell apoptosis was calculated using the Cell Death Detection ELISA assay. Results are shown as mean±s.e. The blank control represents cells transfected with the pcDNA3 empty vector. Each experiment was performed in triplicate for five independent times. mU=absorbance [10−3]. *P-value<0.05, and **P-value<0.01, relative to the blank control by two-tailed t-test.
