For each signed length Δ along the backbone, the clusters are plotted (in red, green, blue and orange) with indication of the mode location of the cluster together with the location of some of the ideal structures in rotational space: γ± for 2, βI, βII, βI, βII for 3, αright, αleft for 4, Schellman, π for 5 and βp for L. The letters a to h indicate the different length categories.
