(a) Numbers of lineage-specific novel lincRNAs were identified through de novo assembly of transcripts from whole-genome RNA-sequencing data followed by a series of filters removing known and novel protein-coding transcripts and noncoding RNAs <200 bp in length. Identified novel lineage-specific lincRNAs are expressed >1 FPKM in either the primary or effector culture (see also Methods and Supplementary Fig. 10). (b) Heatmap data showing levels of lineage-specific novel lincRNA expression by primary and effector TH1, TH2 and TH17 cultures. (c) Co-expression of novel lincRNAs with neighbouring protein-coding genes expressed as the fraction of identified lineage-specific TH1, TH2 or TH17 lincRNAs co-expressed with protein-coding genes within 250 kb 5′ or 3′ of the given lncRNA gene.
