A broader community niche and higher thermal resilience may be driven by (a) high niche complementarity of species, that is, strong variation in species mean niche positions (μS) and thus response diversity, and/or by (b) broader species niches (σS). The community resilience (RC) is based on the weighted sum of the individual species niches (c), with species weighted by their proportional abundance (pS).
