Repair of Interferon Synthetic Capacity in Ultraviolet-irradiated Normal and Hybrid Mammalian Cells

Abstract

THE two principal steps in the repair of ultraviolet irradiation damage on cell DNA1 involve the excision of pyrimidine dimers2 and the repair replication of the excision gaps3,4. We wanted to determine whether this repaired DNA, which can be normally duplicated5,6, will act as a template for mRNA transcription.
