Ribonucleoprotein Binding of Steroid-“Receptor” Complexes

Abstract

IT is currently believed that the action of a steroid hormone is dependent on its binding to a specific cytoplasmic “receptor” protein. The steroid-“receptor” complex then enters the cell nucleus and presumably regulates certain nuclear activities including RNA synthesis1–5.
