Abstract
STUDIES have shown that fragments of some human tumours and tissues can be maintained or grown in mice with deficient cell-mediated immunity1,2. Application of this technique to hormone-producing tumours could enable the study of factors affecting hormone secretion and mechanism of hormone action. Also it might offer a cumulative collection of tissue for extraction of hormone.
