(a) Cumulative distributions of lifetime sparseness for RE+, CB+ and GAD+ neurons. Lifetime sparseness was quantified as kurtosis of the maximum ∆F/F response for each odor. A kurtosis of 0 indicates normally distributed responses while kurtosis < 0 indicates more uniformly distributed responses. All three distributions are significantly different from each other (Kolmogorov-Smirnov test, all p < 0.01).
