Crystal structure for hexagonal HoMnO3. (a) View from the side (c axis is up). Large blue balls are Ho, red balls are oxygen. The Mn ions sit at the centre of each tetrahedron of oxygen ions. (b) View along the c axis. Note the triangular configuration of the Mn (oxygen tetrahedra) as well as the Ho. The oxygen that make up the sides of each tetrahedron also exhibit triangular coordination.
