Abstract

This presentation focused on the potential of the BRIF to capture data that demonstrates the initial and long term impact of bioresources and those who direct/operate them for support/participation in biomedical and clinical research and their effects on clinical care outcomes. The focus of this talk is also to share ideas and provide different ways to look at the BRIF. The BRIF can be used to measure impact but may also be utilized to ensure and accelerate impact. Implementing the BRIF would potentially lead to significant positive downstream effects. Many challenges exist for the biobanking area ahead of this. One central issue that is delaying/impeding impact is the ability to create economically viable and sustainable resources.
