Overexpression of Bid in resistant cells increases TRAIL-induced apoptosis. TRAIL-resistant SKOV3ip1 cells were stably transfected with GFP expression vector (GFP) or with GFP-tagged Bid vector (Bid-GFP). (a) After selection, cells were analyzed for Bid expression and cleavage in the presence or absence of TRAIL (200 ng/ml) by immunoblot. (b) The percentage of apoptosis was measured as percentage of hypoploid cells assessed by flow cytometry analysis during exposure to TRAIL (200 ng/ml) in the presence or absence of LY294002 (5 μM) for 24 h.
