Summary of the tumor-suppressive effects of SMAD7 as delineated from the data obtained in DEN-induced HCC samples of SMAD7 Tg and SMAD7 KO mice. Target gene regulation was measured in tumor lysates of DEN-treated SMAD7 Tg and KO mice. Functional outcome of target gene regulation was based on literature (see Discussion section).
