Abstract
INVESTIGATIONS of the corrosion of hot dip galvanized steel reinforcement in concrete1 have shown that calcium hydroxozincate, Ca[Zn(OH)3]2.2H2O, is a corrosion product. This compound has been described recently by Lieber2 as a retarder in the setting of Portland cements.
