Abstract
THE NH2 radical has been observed in γ-irradiated frozen ammonia1 and in the electrical discharge products of ammonia trapped in a frozen argon matrix2. To our knowledge this radical has not so far been observed in a matrix that does not contain ammonia or an amino-group. We now report our observation of this radical in ?-irradiated frozen aqueous azide matrix.
