Abstract
Basu1 has claimed that the observed distribution of QSO redshifts can be interpreted in terms of a selection effect due to the different number of search lines available at different redshifts. Similar arguments have also been put forward by others2,3. One of the purposes of this communication is to show that those results should be viewed with care.
