Abstract
A series of new acylic dichlorides were prepared from 4,4′-dihydroxybiphenyl and the ethylester of an ω-Bromo alkyl-carboxylic acid. These dichlorides condensed with terephthalic dihydrazide. The resulting poly(ether-alkyl)hydrazides (PEHZ), whose general formula is:
were characterized by inherent viscosity, elemental analysis, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), and WAXS experiments.
