Background: Due to late onset neurological symptoms, MRI abnormalities, and neuropsychological deficits the long-term outcome of treated PKU is still unclear.

Subjects: 57 early-treated PKU patients (24 m, 33 f; age 22.0(17-33)), 40 control subjects, similar in age, sex and educational status of the family.
