Background: Infants in ICU have multiple blood `donor-exposures'(DE). (DE) can be minimized using (paediatric) multiple packs from one blood donor (MPSD), reducing wastage and viral transmission. In GB, uptake of this opportunity is variable in different paediatric cardiac ICU(PCICU).

Methods and Subjects: i: DE were recorded in 18 patients, <10 kg weight, undergoing cardiac surgery between 11/1994 and 04/1995; Age 0.25-23 (median 5.25) months; c.p. by-pass time 32-174 (101) min.
