Background. PLV and TLV can both support gas exchange in different animal models. Nevertheless, there are only a few reports comparing its relative efficacy.

Aim. To compare the effects of PLV and TLV on gas exchange, cardiovascular profile, and pulmonary mechanics in rats with lung injury induced by lung lavage.
