Aims: to examine the effects of different diets on body composition in preterm infants

Subjects/procedure: preterm infants (BWTæ1750 g, GESTæ34 weeks) were randomised to be fed either a preterm (discharge-6 months corrected age; A), a 'term' (discharge-6m; gp B), or both (preterm from discharge-term, 'term' from term-6m; gp C) infant formulas. Nutrient intake was measured between each clinic visit. Body composition was measured at discharge, term, 12 w and 6m corrected age.
