Introduction: Clinical Risk Index for Babies (CRIB) was initially used for predicting mortality in preterm infants. Confirmed risk factors of bronchopulmonary dysplasia include low gestational age (GA) and birth weight, severe RDS. CRIB includes these parameters plus congenital malformations, maximum base excess, minimum and maximum inspired fraction of oxygen in the first twelve hours of life.
