Introduction: Risk factors affecting vertical HCV transmission are not completely known, if we exclude maternal HIV co-infection. Results regarding other potential hazards such as vaginal delivery, breast feeding or high maternal viral load are not definitive. We hypotized that immunogenetic factors related to neonatal HLA profiles may affect HCV vertical transmission.
