Abstract 1933

Bone disease is well recognized in the adult chronic renal dialysis and transplant population. Osteoporosis with its risk of fracture is also seen in this population with multiple contributing factors. Preliminary data supports normal bone mineral density (BMD) for children with renal transplantation. The spectrum of BMD in the pediatric dialysis and transplant population may reveal sub-population with high-risk of osteoporosis and risk of fracture.
