Due to the need for resident physicians to participate in the care of newborns in the delivery room, in the Pediatric Services and during neonatal transport, they are taught NRP by Stony Brook faculty using both Regional Trainers and Hospital Based Instructors. Since their "comfort" level may differ from their technical ability in providing these critical care functions, we surveyed our house officers' perceptions of the NRP course as a method for improving their knowledge and technical skills. We interviewed 64 house staff participants from Sept. 1997 through Aug. 1998 using a Likert's Scale.
