From: Ahnak deficiency attenuates high-fat diet-induced fatty liver in mice through FGF21 induction

High-fat diet-induced obese Ahnak-deficient mice exhibited increased hepatic FGF21 production and release compared with WT HFD-fed mice, thereby inducing the expression of genes involved in the fatty acid oxidation pathway, decreasing lipogenesis, decreasing hepatic steatosis, and increasing energy expenditure.
