Collapsed areas of wood, formed during treatment, are visible in this computer tomographic image taken of the Saddle. The red squares show two collapsed areas. Alum salts and the linseed oil have penetrated minimally (A + L), while the varnish is the bright layer on the surface. Fill material (F) and screws originate from restoration after conservation.
