Construction of unreinforced load-bearing walls, transverse arches, and flat slab roofs using basalt stone as a building material. Corbelling is used in various ways: corbelled cantilevers, web-shaped corbels in semicircular chambers, and parallel corbels in rectilinear compartments (such as stairs and balconies).
