P. gingivalis-induced mitochondrial dysfunction was dependent on Drp1 in endothelial cells. EA.hy926 cells were pretreated with 20 mM Mdivi-1 or DMSO for 2 h before being exposed to P. gingivalis (6 h for mtROS, 12 h for MMP, and 2 h for ATP production) to elucidate the role of Drp1. a The mtROS fluorescence intensity was observed under a confocal microscope.
