a Evolution of the indicator of speckle formation D/σ and of the intensity I of the pulses delivered by the switched QDM micropillar (blue dots) as a function of the pump intensity. For P below ≈70 pJ/pulse, I follows the linear trend expected for pure SpE, shown as a dotted blue line. For larger P’s, a superlinear increase of I reveals the onset of amplification by stimulated emission from the QD ensemble. b CCD camera images of the output facet of a Teflon film, upon irradiation by pulses emitted by the switched micropillar for two different P’s. For each energy, we show two images obtained from independent acquisitions. Speckle formation is clearly observed in the strong pumping regime.
