From: Robotic pendant drop: containerless liquid for μs-resolved, AI-executable XPCS

The sample is a dilute suspension of ~100 nm diameter silica nanoparticles in water (2.5% volume fraction). The top-left inset shows the 3D mechanical drawing of the aluminum liquid cell with externally threaded polycarbonate caps, and the top-right inset shows a close-up image of the pendant drop. The pendant drop is generated using an electronic pipette and can be aspirated back into the pipette tip at the end of the measurement. The red laser beam marks the height of the X-ray beam for coarse vertical alignment. A 0.13-mm-thick polycarbonate sleeve is placed around the pendant drop to suppress airflow and solvent evaporation
