From: hTERT promoter mutations in chondrosarcomas associate with progression and disease-related mortality
Comparison between histopathology, TERT immunohistochemistry and hTERT promoter sequencing in a single chondrosarcoma with mixed histology. DNA was isolated from different areas using sterile punch biopsies (1–2). Biopsy 1 was taken from an area with grade 2 morphology (a) and TERT immunoreactivty (b). Biopsy 2 was taken from an area with grade 1 morphology (c) with no TERT immunoreactivity (d). The −124 C > T hTERT promoter mutation was only identified in biopsy 1, while biopsy 2 showed a wild-type sequence
