The detected fusions involved either ligands (EGF, HBEGF, TGFA) to the EGF receptor (EGFR), EGFR itself, or other receptor tyrosine kinases (ROS1, RET, PDGFRB) that all are known to activate the PI3K–AKT–mTOR pathway.
