(Case 9): a lung cancer resection specimen with a few millimeter nodule of proliferating mesothelial cells (a, b) that have lost BAP1 but not MTAP (c). Although this appearance mimics an invasive mesothelioma, the remainder of the specimen showed only flat mesothelium with BAP1 loss (d, e). Patient is alive at 57 months without overt mesothelioma but has developed recurring pleural effusions
