Dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans. a. This plaque-like example shows a diffusely infiltrative growth pattern. Unlike dermatofibromas, there is no epidermal hyperplasia. b The honeycomb appearance of the infiltrated subcutaneous fat results in linear collections of adipocytes with a “string of pearls” appearance. c The tumor shows a uniform storiform architecture and contains spindle cells with hyperchromatic nuclei. d Diffuse expression of CD34 is a typical finding
