Single dots of EBNA1 mRNA were detected in rare lymphoma cells (pointed by the arrow) of 4 conventional EBV-negative cell lines scoring positive on ddPCR analysis for EBNA1 (L1236, UHO1, SUP-HD1, HDLM2), but in no cells of 2 conventional EBV-negative cell lines lacking EBNA1 signal on ddPCR (KMH2, L428). In contrast, conventional EBV-positive cHL cell lines used as positive controls (L591, AM-HLH) showed a higher number of RNAscope dots per cell in most cells.
