From: Programmed death-ligand 1 expression in the immune compartment of colon carcinoma
A Colon carcinoma with few associated intratumoral inflammatory cells and the corresponding B immunostain for PD-L1 is negative in both the intratumoral inflammatory cells and tumor cells. In contrast, C this colon carcinoma demonstrates numerous intratumoral inflammatory cells with a corresponding D PD-L1 high immunophenotype revealing intense red membranous staining in the peritumoral inflammatory component.
