Brain tissue samples for the CBMAP were collected from multiple brain banks from the China Human Brain Bank Consortium. Phase I of the CBMAP includes the brain banks of Zhejiang University, Peking Union Medical College, and Central South University. Recruitment is ongoing for the remaining brain banks. As shown in panel (A), a deeper red indicates a higher population density. These brain banks cover most of China’s densely populated areas. The age distribution, collection year distribution, and neuropathological diagnosis distribution of the Phase I samples are shown in panels (B), (C), and (D), respectively.
