Kinetics of cellular infiltration. a, b BALB/c mice were immunized with 2 × 108 particles of rAd-HA and rAd-NP plus 1 × 109 particles of either rAd-empty (a) or rAd-IL-1β (b). Lungs were harvested at the indicated time points after the immunization and single cell preparations were analyzed via multicolor flow cytometry (gating see Fig. S4B+C). One group of naive mice (n = 4) was used to determine the steady state in the lung (day 0). The lower graphs illustrate the total numbers of several infiltrating immune cell subsets, while the upper graphs show the relative increases compared to the naive steady state.
