Main age and protein effects and age × protein interaction effect were determined by using mixed model analysis. The protein drink did not suppress subsequent energy intake at the buffet meal compared with control. The main effects of age (P = 0.16) and protein (P = 0.46) and the age × protein interaction effect (P = 0.84) for energy intake were not significant.
