Following processing the mature cytokines bind to the IL-36R – IL-1RacP heterodimeric receptor complex. MyD88 is recruited to this heterotrimeric complex, activating mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) and nuclear transcription factor kappa B (NF-κB) signalling pathways, ultimately regulating inflammatory gene activation.
