From: ProBDNF/p75NTR/sortilin pathway is activated in peripheral blood of patients with alcohol dependence

The mRNA levels of p75NTR (a) and sortilin (b) were slightly increased; but the mRNA levels of BDNF (c) and TrkB (d) were significantly decreased in the lymphocytes of patients with alcohol dependence (n = 28) compared to the controls (n = 46). Quantitative real-time PCR was performed to measure the mRNA level of each sample, and β-actin was measured as control (each measurement was performed in triplicates). All the data were presented in mean ± SEM and analysed by Student’s t-test (**P < 0.01, ***P < 0.001)
