Current practicing guidelines and the spread of the virus has put a further financial strain on practices which have already been suffering as a result of the pandemic. Closures have compounded waiting lists providing an avalanche of work for practitioners. Longer waits have increases patient anxiety. Fallow times and social distancing have meant practices are often struggling to meet patient demand and balance their books. It may be true that now more than ever practices need to make sure their bills are paid.
There are several reasons why a patient might refuse to pay for treatment. Three main reasons for they are not happy with the bill they have received or they do not have the funds to pay. The reasons above focus on the state of mind of the patients and this occurs relatively frequently as a result of miscommunication.
