If you've been engaged in dental recruitment over the past couple of years, you've probably encountered your fair share of challenges in attracting and retaining top talent. You're far from alone; this is a widespread issue in the sector.

But what's behind this recruitment conundrum? In my role as a coach supporting leaders in dentistry, I've identified four recurring themes that consistently emerge in discussions about recruitment and retention:

  • Generational differences among employees

  • Historical issues

  • Self-sabotage

  • Lack of effective leadership.
