Dental school will equip you with a handful of tools in preparation to working outside the cushioned setting of university. This article will highlight a couple of effective strategies that you can start to implement now whilst seeing patients at dental school.
Seeing your first patient can be overwhelming. Initially your working pace will be slow as you start treating patients. Instilled with doubt, you will probably seek for approval every step of a procedure, such as a filling or an endodontic treatment. As students, we are expected to need more time to perform simple procedures and encouraged to make our fair share of mistakes to learn from, to avoid repeating them in the future. With time though, your working pace will improve and your confidence will grow whilst treating a handful of patients.
